My core research areas cover: Cultural History, World History, Political Philosophy, History of Ideas, and the Social Sciences. The content of my current research centres upon Central Asia, especially the Soviet experience within Uzbekistan.

PhD thesis title: 'Implementing a Vision of Citizenship in Soviet Uzbekistan: Theory, Social Issues, and Education' (School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.)

Sevket and several academic and postgraduate colleagues have established the EURASIA STUDIES SOCIETY (TESS) on 31st March 2011.
